Annual Minority Rights Summer Course

The annual Minority Rights Summer Course has been running for over a decade, bringing together human rights law practitioners, researchers and students to review and discuss legal, political and practical issues faced by minority rights law, including the rights of indigenous peoples.
Who is this course for?
This course is available to all those with an interest in minority rights law and there are no set academic entry requirements.

What is the aim of the course?
The course aims to provide an overview of the legal, political and practical issues pertaining to minority rights law, including the rights of indigenous peoples. An overarching focus on case law will root the discourse in the realisation rather than the proclamation of rights.

Who are the speakers?
The speakers range from established academics in fields relevant to minority rights, including international criminal law and international human rights law, expert practitioners from NGOs such as Minority Rights Group International and the Forest Peoples’ Programme, and international organisations notably the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.

What are the course fees?
The Minority Rights Summer Course is £100 for students and £200 for non-students. This includes tea, coffee and lunch on each day of the course.
