The Human Rights Law Centre at the University of Nottingham is inviting applications for the post of Research Assistant.
The successful candidate will join a small team of academics, consultants and support staff and assist in the planning and implementation of human rights projects, which include training courses, workshops, conferences and research projects (both in the UK and overseas), as well as the publication of several human rights journals and books.
Candidates must have a postgraduate degree, or equivalent, involving human rights studies and/or relevant experience of working on human rights related projects. They should have a clear interest and demonstrable expertise in international human rights law. Previous experience in human rights projects is desirable. Excellent inter-personal and communication skills in English are essential. Knowledge of other languages is desirable.
Job description
The above post is to provide support for the courses, programmes, events, research and other projects of the Human Rights Law Centre. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation and implementation of the Centre’s projects and courses, provide research assistance as and when required, assist in the making of funding applications, the production of reports on activities and in the promotion of the Centre. In particular the successful candidate will support the Centre’s Co-ordinator in the carrying out of her duties.
